BEC replaced two 500hp burners on low pressure steam heating boilers at a south suburban high school.  With Webster burners engineering help, we designed a new burner model to retrofit these old coal fired boilers.  The burners now have greater turndown as the building loads have been reduced over time.  The new linkageless controls helped with increased combustion efficiency across the firing rate of the burner and estimated gas savings were calculated to be 7.5%.  The contractor and customer were so happy with BEC that they are going to do the same retrofit on several other nearby schools.
